Documentary Family Session Pricing

For the ordinary days you will one day realize were everything.

A documentary family session is different from a traditional portrait session.

This is not built around perfect outfits, everyone smiling at the camera, or trying to make real life look more polished than it is. This is built around your actual family — the routines, the movement, the noise, the tenderness, the details of home, and the way this season feels from the inside.

It is one of the most meaningful ways I know to preserve family life.

What makes documentary different

A portrait session shows what your family looked like.

A documentary family session shows what your family life felt like.

The breakfast mess. The little hands reaching for yours. The books before nap time. The way your child climbs into your lap. The toys on the floor. The quiet moments between the loud ones.

These are the details that seem ordinary now and become priceless later.

You do not need to plan a perfect day

The beauty of documentary photography is that your real life is enough.

We can build a loose rhythm together, but you do not need elaborate activities or a perfectly tidy house. Some of the most meaningful stories are made from pancakes, backyard play, nursing a baby, folding tiny clothes, bath time, or a walk through your neighborhood.

Add film to your documentary session

If still photographs preserve the visual story, film preserves the rhythm and sound of your life together.

The laughter in the kitchen. The clatter of breakfast. The way your child says your name. The movement, the voices, the feeling of your family in motion.

For families who want the fullest record of this season, film is an incredibly beautiful add-on.

FAQ

Do we need to plan activities?

Not necessarily. The best documentary sessions often come from ordinary routines. We can plan a loose rhythm, but your real life is enough.

Will you pose us?

This session is primarily documentary. I may offer gentle direction when helpful, but the heart of the session is honest storytelling.

Where does the session take place?

Most documentary family sessions happen at home, but they can also include meaningful nearby places like a favorite walk, grandparents’ home, or another location that is part of your real life.

Can we add film?

Yes. Film is a beautiful addition to documentary sessions if you want the sounds and movement preserved alongside the photographs.

How long does it take to get our gallery?

Documentary galleries are delivered within 2–3 weeks.
